As a child I used to chase the geese around the "shore". They were always too fast and a little vicious (understandably). The island is small and has a little train for children that loops around it. Its mostly just used for baseball games, but its a nice place to walk or bike.

There used to be a walking bridge connecting the island to either shore, but during a large snowstorm in the late 90s, the west side was struck by a large iceberg and collapsed. It will likely never be repaired like most of americas collapsing infrastructure.
