Dubbed the "original" resort ski area Coronet Peak is only 25 minutes from Queenstown. However, it's at a much lower elevation and may become unusable in the near future due to climate change.

It's a smaller park than the remarkables, but they have night skiing and sometimes it's less busy. The pass is shared with mt hutt and the remarkables.
