Story
A small town east of apasa. A merchant traveling through towasi into apasa mentioned a series of a disappearances have been occurring.
By the time we returned from defeating the fog in apasa the rumors had elevated to horror stories and the situation was dire. We packed up and left for towasi at sundown.
Just outside of town we encountered two armed men on horses. Upon seeing them aurora bolted into the nearby woods. They wore an emblem of shield with two crossed swords and the one man introduced himself as Har Vanteer of the salvation army. We got bad vibes from them. They displayed a wanted poster for aurora whom we denied seeing. Shortly after they passed us we saw they had dismounted their horses and begun searching the woods.
We stole their horses and traveled slowly up the road until aurora caught up with us and from there we made way at great speed, through the night, and slept a little ways off the trail about halfway to towasi.
Traveling again through the night, we made our way further down the path, stopping at an abandoned farm house on the outskirts of town as dawn was breaking. We slept again to regain strength for whatever awaits us in town.
We finally had some time to look through the gear we stole from those salvation army folks. They had some basic supplies, rations, and notably a rough map of the region. We left their horses untied at this farm and made our way into town. It was erie and mostly abandoned, but without much structural damage. We stowed our gear at an inn and began a night patrol of the town. Most homes were empty, but a seldom few were barricaded and perhaps housing the few remaining townsfolk.
Aurora saw it first. We rounded a corner and in a flash a fight broke out. There was a large, mostly wooden gorilla shaped mechanical creature. It was very strong and picked up gordon to run off with him, but we were faster and dealt blow after blow with our strong new weapons. We slayed it there in the streets and wheeled it back out front the inn where we slept till morning.
Next morning we wheeled our trophy around town discussing the battle with the few townsfolk we found. Most of which seemed to be preparing to skip town as soon as they could. Their descriptions alluded to the fact that there must be more of these mechanical beasts roaming the area. We aren't safe yet.
