A4 Grid

A4 Paper is the really inconvenient size of 210mm x 297mm. Even more inconvenient is that most consumer printers use 300DPI (or 600 or 1200) which translates to 118.11023622047 pixels/cm.

600 DPI 1in squares

A 600 DPI A4 image is typically 4960x7016 (which is slightly off the exact amount, but good enough). Using 600px squares (1 inch) we get really nice easy values. Using 25mm squares instead with mean we need squares of 590.56px and weird non-pixel aligning border sizes.

For dungeon scrawl, exporting at 75ppi means you can scale by 8x which is ideal. You cannot use 100ppi unless you pay.
